Seals and Inferno battle at Blue Cross Arena

BLUE CROSS ARENA, January 6, 2017 - The visiting Baby Seals took on the Rochester Inferno (D-) in an invitational matchup on Friday. The Seals defeated the Inferno 3 to 2 in a hard fought game at Blue Cross Arena. This was the 18th meeting between these two teams. Their last meeting was won by the Rochester Inferno 5-3. The Baby Seals lead the overall series 11-7-0.

The game was close throughout its entirety. After a scoreless first period, the Seals led 2-1 at the end of the second. The game was evened up 2-2 early in the third. Former Rochester Inferno player Justin Webb put away the go-ahead goal for the Seals with several minutes to go. The Inferno pulled goalie Ron Coon with just over a minute to play in the game, and although they generated many chances, were not able to tie it up.

The Rochester Inferno had 4 players that made the scorecard. Tim Daly and Michael Atseff each had 1 goal and 1 assist (2 points), tallying the Inferno goals for the night. Dave Morgan and Dave Nau each supported with an assist.
