Inferno flushes Lucky Pucks

BILL GRAY'S REGIONAL ICEPLEX, August 23, 2017 - The visiting Lucky Pucks took on the Rochester Inferno (D) in a toilet bowl championship matchup on Wednesday. The Inferno defeated the Lucky Pucks 7 to 3 at Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex. This was the 13th match-up between these two teams, and their last matchup was won by the Rochester Inferno 8-3. The Rochester Inferno leads the series 11-2-0.

The score doesn't show it, but the game was extremely close. The score was 3-3 going into the 3rd and even the game winning goal didn't come until about eight and a half minutes left in the game. The safety goals only came with less than four minutes left.

"It's always a pleasure playing the pucks..." said Inferno captain, Dave Morgan, "...but we always feel bad scoring on our former goalie, Kojun Hatta. I mean - he always looks so dejected when we do."

Joe Climek scored a hat trick in the game, and when asked about how he felt about his third goal with 1.9 seconds remaining in the game, he remarked: "The last goal I was just standing there and was tripped and once on the ground I tapped the puck in. I don't feel too bad about that one."

The Rochester Inferno had 10 players that made the scorecard. Joe Climek had 3 goals and 1 assist (4 points). Tim Moynihan had 1 goal and 2 assists (3 points) and was whistled for 4 penalty minutes. Brian Walsh had 2 goals (2 points). Kevin Brolly, Tim Daly, and Chris Linford each had 2 assists (2 points). Michael Atseff had 1 goal. Steve Sydorowicz, Dave Morgan, and Mike Flannery all had 1 assist.

Brian Walsh was awarded the hot dog.
