Inferno smelts Shooters, ends streak with 6-3 victory

BILL GRAY'S REGIONAL ICEPLEX, August 3, 2016 - The visiting Rochester Inferno (D-) took on the Premature Shooters in a matchup on Wednesday. The Inferno defeated the Shooters 6 to 3 at Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex. This was the 18th match-up between these two teams, and their last matchup was won by the Premature Shooters 4-2. The Premature Shooters lead the series 10-7-1.

The Rochester Inferno ended the Premature Shooters' regular season 17 game undefeated streak with a come from behind victory. The game started in favor of the Shooters who led early 2-0. The Inferno fought back and had 9 players that made the scorecard.

Pat Whitman and Tim Daly each earned a "Santa's Little Helper" award with 3 assists each. Steve Sydorowicz led the team with his 2 goals (2 points), earning him the famed "Hot Dog" award. Brian Walsh and Joe Climek each had 1 goal and 1 assist (2 points). Michael Atseff had 1 goal and 1 assist (2 points) as well, but added 2 penalty minutes to his card. Anthony Selvaggio had 2 assists (2 points). Dave Morgan had 1 goal and was whistled for 4 penalty minutes. Chris Linford had 1 assist. Ron Coon made several key saves to keep the Inferno in the game, and while Dan Degroat didn't make the scorecard, he was +5 on the night.
